Overview

Outdoor Carpentry

Stone handles the ground. Everything above it is carpentry — the deck you step out onto, the pergola that makes the patio usable at noon, the fence that finally hides the neighbour's trailer. We build on site in cedar, treated or composite, framed to code and detailed so the fasteners are not the first thing you notice.

  • Cedar, pressure-treated or composite — priced honestly against each other
  • Framed to Alberta building code, permits pulled where required
  • Hidden fasteners on decking surfaces
  • Posts set on proper footings below frost line
  • Stained or sealed before we hand it over

Questions

Carpentry — what people ask.

Cedar or composite?

Cedar looks better and costs less up front, but wants a coat every two or three years. Composite costs more and asks for nothing. We quote both and let you pick.

Do I need a permit for a deck?

In Edmonton, generally yes once it sits over 0.6m above grade or attaches to the house. We pull it as part of the job.

Can you match existing work?

Usually. Send a photo of what is there and we will tell you honestly whether matching it or replacing it looks better.
