Overview

Landscape Lighting

A yard you spent good money on disappears for half the year unless it is lit. We install low-voltage LED — path lights, uplighting on the trees and front elevation, and step lighting where people actually trip. Cable buried below working depth, transformer sized with headroom, and a photocell so you never think about it again.

  • Low-voltage LED — safe to work on, cheap to run
  • Transformer sized with 20% headroom for adding fixtures later
  • Cable buried below mower and aeration depth
  • Brass and copper fixtures that survive Alberta freeze-thaw
  • Photocell and timer control, app control if you want it

Questions

Lighting — what people ask.

Will it survive an Edmonton winter?

Brass and copper will. We avoid the cheap cast aluminium stock that corrodes and splits after a couple of freeze cycles, and cable is buried below the depth anything else disturbs.

What does it cost to run?

A typical twelve-fixture LED system draws less than one old porch bulb — a few dollars a month.

Can I add to it later?

That is exactly why we oversize the transformer. Adding fixtures to an existing run is a short visit, not a rebuild.
