Overview

Tree & Shrub Care

A bad prune shows for years. Timing matters as much as technique here — elms are legally restricted in summer, birch and maple bleed if cut in spring, and most flowering shrubs will skip a whole year of blooms if trimmed at the wrong moment.

  • Structural and maintenance pruning on ornamental trees
  • Hedge shaping — cedar, lilac, caragana and dogwood
  • Deep-root fertilizer injection for stressed or newly planted trees
  • Removal of dead, hazardous or badly placed trees, stump included
  • Elm pruning inside the legal Alberta window only

What is included

The details that actually matter.

Right season, right cut

We schedule each species when cutting it does the least harm and the most good.

Elm rules

Alberta prohibits elm pruning April 1 – September 30 to limit Dutch elm disease. We book those in winter.

Deep-root feeding

Injected below the turf line so the tree gets it, not the grass competing with it.

Clean removals

Dropped safely, chipped on site and hauled away, with stump grinding available same visit.

How it works

Booked in four steps.

Questions

Tree & Shrub Care — what people ask.

When is the best time to prune trees in Edmonton?

Late winter for most deciduous trees — the structure is visible and the tree is dormant. Spring-flowering shrubs like lilac get pruned right after they bloom so you do not remove next year's buds.

Do you remove large trees near the house?

Yes, using sectional removal with rigging. Anything requiring a crane or touching power lines, we will tell you honestly and coordinate the right specialist.

Is stump grinding included in a removal?

It is quoted separately because access varies, but it is usually done the same day.
